Half Day Cape Point Mission

Short on time but not on a sense of adventure? This half-day tour is designed to give you a taste of the magic of the Cape Peninsula. We'll skip the long drives to focus on what matters most: connecting with the ocean, its charismatic residents, and a well-deserved local lunch.

Itinerary

Morning (7:30 AM - 12:00 PM)

  • 8:00 AM: Meet at Dive Team in Simon's Town. We'll kick off our adventure by meeting at the dive center. Over a warm cup of coffee or local Rooibos tea and rusks, we'll get kitted out with all the gear we need for our journey beneath the waves.

  • 9:00 AM: Penguins & Cape Point. With our gear ready, we’ll make the short drive to Boulders Beach to visit the resident colony of endangered African penguins. We'll take about 30 minutes to observe these charismatic little birds before heading deeper into the magnificent Cape Point Nature Reserve.

  • 10:30 AM: Freedive at Buffels Bay. It’s time to dive in! We’ll make our way to Buffels Bay Beach, where I’ll guide you through the basics of freediving. We'll explore the shallow, rocky reefs, keeping an eye out for our marine friends in this beautiful, protected bay. It’s an incredible way to connect with the ocean's silent world. Don't want to dive? No worries, we'll take you on a guided intertidal walk around the magnificent rocky shores instead.

  • 12:00 PM: Braai on the Beach. With our dive complete, it's time for the ultimate reward: a traditional South African braai (barbecue). We'll light the fire right on the beach for a delicious feast by the sea, the perfect way to recharge our batteries.

End of Day (2:00 PM)

  • 2:00 PM: Drop-off in Simon's Town. After our braai, we'll pack up and say our goodbyes at the dive center, leaving you filled with memories of a day spent exploring the best the Cape has to offer.

Please note: This itinerary is a guide. Times are approximate and subject to change based on weather conditions, traffic, and the spontaneous magic of a day spent in nature!
