Our Story
My journey began in the lecture halls of the University of Cape Town, where I immersed myself in marine biology and oceanography. From there, my passion led me into the field, researching sharks at the legendary Aliwal Shoal and studying manta rays in the vibrant waters of Mozambique. This scientific background gave me a deep understanding of our oceans and their ecosystems.
But my path took a beautiful turn. I realised that my most powerful tool for conservation wasn't just my research, but my ability to share the ocean's stories. I transitioned from a marine researcher to an ocean storyteller, using my skills to bring the wonders of the underwater world to life.
Wild Mermaid Expeditions was born from this evolution. My mission is to make the ocean an accessible and empowering space for women, and every expedition is designed to be a transformative experience where you can hone your underwater photography skills and become a part of a community passionate about protecting our planet.
Your Trip Leader
As your trip leader, I bring a unique blend of scientific knowledge and a deep-seated love for adventure. I am a hardworking, adaptable, and self-motivated individual who has built this company on a foundation of leadership, communication, and a deep love for the ocean. When I'm not leading expeditions or creating captivating content, you can find me exploring the beautiful kelp forests near my home or conquering the tallest mountains on a trail run.
My goal is to share my passion with you, creating a space where you can experience the same joy and wonder in the ocean as I do. I can't wait to welcome you into the Wild Mermaid community! 🧜♀️
